Nikki Haley is an American diplomat and politician who served as the 116th and first female Governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017, and as the 29th United States Ambassador to the United Nations for almost two years, from January 2017 to December 2018. Haley is the founder of "Stand for America", an advocacy group promoting public policies that strengthen America's economy, culture, and national security. Also chaired the Lexington Gala to raise funds for a local hospital, served on the Lexington Medical Foundation, Lexington County Sheriff's Foundation, and West Metro Republican Women. She was the president of the South Carolina Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, and was chair for the 2006 Friends of Scouting Leadership Division campaign. Haley chaired the Lexington Gala to raise funds for a local hospital.
